Comic Book Guy creates a new superhero called Everyman who takes powers from other superheroes. Homer is cast as the lead in the film adaptation. To get Homer into shape, the movie studio hires a celebrity fitness trainer, Lyle McCarthy to help him.[1] Homer gets into great shape, and is really excited, but the film is canceled, and his life falls apart.

If you are really such a Simpsons expert you would clearly be able to see the progression and evolution. No, it's not necessarily fresh, but it's reached such a level of classic that it can do something like this. In my opinion, this episode and several of the last episodes from season 20 show similarities to a diverse range of seasons. If they made most of the episodes from season 2, I bet tonnes of these kids would be saying this episode is "too boring to watch" too. I'm more of a season 7 kind of girl but I am trying to appreciate the writing style they have adopted after realizing the direction change they have to make after season 18 or 19. It would be sweet if they could keep making those hilarious episodes of 10+ years ago but I don't think it's appropriate for such a classic show anymore. These shows I think are necessary and apt for the show coming to its final days. That's just my opinion.
Lastly, at least those kids are grown up enough to have a different opinion without resorting to completely immature name-calling. Acting like an asshole doesn't make anyone think you're smart or knowledgeable. And so you don't waste your time: I'm not going to be insulted when you call me "retarded" so don't bother.
