Here's a video all complainey-pants Simpsons 'fans' should watch. The selfishness of people on comment forums like this inspired it:

oh its Seth Rogen yea hes good in films like pineapple express knocked up and observe and report but i don't like his effort into this episode it's as that english guy said half assed and 90 % recycled. simpsons hero movie happened remember pie-man and fallout boy both super hero episodes played by simpsons so this means that there going to recycle more episodes to try and make a 21st season. :( not good and yes i think all of the writers are being replaced with non funny people boring almost i mean this episode is good to watch but not funny and thats what i expect in a simpsons episode okay i laughed once thats it all the other jokes were bad. what's happening to the show that america loved and first saw in the 90's i think they are getting to the end. sad but true there just tired of writing and are going for a simple method of the recycling method. so in my opinion for this episode not good

Ok
I dont consider a debate about my favourite show a waste of time, quite the opposite, i love to debate about the things im passionate about, to me its completely valuable as it addresses my thoughts on a show and puts them to an audience that seems to just blindly accept the tripe hollywood throws at them. I think its a bit idiotic to say the simpsons 'wont go down' the show will end, no tv show has an indefinite life cycle, its impossible. What if castellaneta died tomorrow? Would anyone accept a new homer? No, the show would end. The show is on its last legs, even people defending this episode agree. Celebrity scientologist kavner and superhero shearer stated a few seasons ago they were unhappy with the shows quality. Speaking of quality, as a british person im unaware of who exactly conan o'brien is beyond a talk show host and producer of the simpsons in a golden age, hes long gone as are the bulk of the decent writers, directors and producers. As a fan and student of comedy for about the past 20 years, not just the simpsons, i adore comedy and being british i get to see some of the best in the world at the early stages before it gets shipped around the world. Back to the simpsons i check out writers and producers always and the latest episodes have no one we recognise and they have very little humour in them. For example how many times have we seen a three story episode that rips of classic literature in a lame way, i can think of three eps straight away that do this. I know the classic stories are the staple of sitcoms and you can go back to the old addage thats theres only about four or five actual different storylines in the world. (ask george lucas). But the simpsons set the bar high, now that we are seeing this lull in quality it really stands out and reeks of 'were only doing this for the money' or as we brits say flogging a dead horse. A quick aside to denandu or whatever it was, dissing me for nerd talk ... a little rich considering youre also part of the debate nerdlinger :P
I feel i should also say a little more about seth rogen. The man is an actor, not a great one at that, he's made his name starring in one trick judd apatow movies, im not saying theyre all bad and they dont have funny moments and im not saying actors can not branch out and become writers. Im saying rogen is a mediocre comedy actor and judging by this episode a really really shit writer with no imagination. Again, he should never have been allowed near the simpsons beyond a role as a voice actor. Another person i will raise here who should never have been allowed near the simpsons and was responsible for another painfully bad episode, fellow brit ricky gervais. A terrible episode i will say no more about.
As for an idiotic comment about 'if you think this episode is bad, don't watch it' er i cant judge something unless i see it. if you have some other way i could form opinons about things ive never seen id love to hear it. Oh or you may be one of those conservative weirdos who complains about things just because the daily mail or fox have told you to think its bad. Thankfully i dont work like that, i like to see things before i form an opinion .... and as you may have gathered i have watched this and think it totally sucks. Its lazy derivative garbage.

if enjoying expressing an opinion that is against yours makes me mentally ill then bring on the white coats and lobotomy. Opposing discussions is what life is all about, if we all agreed on everything we would all be boring robots who love family guy.

i dont claim to be an expert, just a long standing fan who has seen every ep many times, i would never claim to be an expert at anything, thats just arrogant wankerism, which sometimes i can be guilty of, but not as far as claiming i know everything, i will always be open to other ideas. There is always something to be learnt about everything i think. I understand and to some degree accept the progression they have had to make, i just personally think they have progressed and evolved down the bloody toilet! To me 'showing similarities to a diverse range of seasons' translates to 'trying to pick out the best bits of our former glory and rehash them'. I know where youre coming from with how now the simple plots of the early seasons would seem out of place, but thats not an excuse for the proposterous and convaluted plots of recent seasons. I will point out some of the rehashed ideas in this ep in a minute. I'll give you season 7 as being close to the absolute pinnacle, sometimes ill be watching random shows, im lucky enough to have a job where i can just hit random all day and watch maybe 10 eps a day in the background while i work, and it suprises me at times how advanced, complex and clever some of the humour was at even at the season 2 or 3 mark. Im glad you acknowledge the show is in its final days, it is a shame and im mourning the loss more than anyone, but it could be time to do the humane thing and put the sick old dog we all know and love down. Cruel to be kind and all that. Ive heard many people say they should have and were planning to, call it a day with the movie. But money always came into play. Like i said i will retract some of the more inflamatory things i said, i'm used to posting on some pretty savage uncut corners of the internet, where people are a little less sensitive. But, i will also say, i made the strong statements because of my love of this show. I could honestly never have written this much about any other show. Ive put more thought into simpsons debates than i ever put into some of my university essays. Youre not a retard and im not about to call you that, as you put forward the most interesting counter to my argument. I can be an uppity arrogant asshole, i know this, but i enjoy debates and stimulating debates, im glad ive done that and i hope to carry on debating this with you.
chellebelle
im english, we invented the language. we spell things right, you guys are the ones who are messing with the language and spelling things wrong, changing s to z for no reason and dropping the h off herb, okay? thanks. (please refer to my above arrogant uppity asshole remark :P)
admin,
everyone seems to be saying something to you and i feel i should as ive just had a massive rant on your site. you dont deserve any shit, i bet you get enough off the 'copyright holders'. I have literally had your site open on all my pcs for about three months, you are a complete legend and the quality of the shows do not reflect on the quality of your well put together and well maintained site. With one exception, one show is in german, which gave me a real good laugh to be fair, hearing homers german counter part gave me nightmares though!
OK this is what is wrong with this episode and why its just half arsed rehashed ideas: (after the third watch btw)
homer gets thin, seen this at least once before
a character writes a comic and then self publishes it, then it gets famous, seen it before
homer becomes a superhero, seen it before
a simpson is a superhero in a hollywood movie, seen it before
homer has had a personal trainer before
comic book guy trolled by a simpson again
'put me in sing sing its safer' very very very lame gag, i appreciate its supposed to be comic book humour, but that was really really lame
another lame gag about nelson/bullies being deep and making art, ok it could be a running joke, but it feels like trying to hard,
also rehash of unexpected character recreating a famous artwork, ie barney
blatant matt groening saying how rich he is in an episode that has little artistic value and is just making him rich, theyre mocking us perhaps?
homer gets picked for a movie/cartoon role thus impressing bart again
superhero movie fails in production
do you see my point about how rehashed this whole episode was? They may as well have given the simpsons another horse, made homer lose his job and rekindled marges gambling addiction
ps what do you think homer said that was bleeped out?
sorry admin for the double post, please delete the other two, my fault, apologies

this episode wasnt funny but i guess interesting to watch. this show has really gone downhill since middle of season 18 its getting boring there making the series boring and stale. i really liked the season premier or american dad and family guy thought they were both amazing had a lot of funny parts in it.

mujtaba123 is obviously trolling, and admin thank you for putting up this video, it worked fine for me. The quality was great and it loaded faster than it played. Why do people complain about a website that offers free episodes of tv shows? if people want fast loading episodes that are great quality go buy it on dvd. And if you think the episode is bad...don't watch it, it's as simple as that.
