It's not that they are running out of ideas, but they are gearing the show towards a younger audience, which means that for any adult with a slightly more sophisticated humour than a five-year old, the show is no longer funny. It's plain silly.

The series is packed full with these kind of "jokes". Subtle, clever, witty jokes stopped a long time ago.

The young ones are simply a more lucrative audience.
