Ned Flanders invites the Simpsons to come along on a church retreat to Jerusalem. While there, Homer fails to grasp the importance of the city until a crazy tour guide takes them around the city and opens Homer's eyes.
1. 90% of the people in Isreal are not religous
2. Israel is a very modern country and the houses here don't look like it was built on the 19th centory
3. Israel isn't a desert! and we don't have camels every where!
4. Israeli people DO NOT look like arabs at all!!! And having a moustache is not a fashionable thing here..
6. Our language doesn't sound anything like arabic
7. it wasn't mentioned in this episode but we don't hate arabs and we want to have peace with them.
p.s : You probably won't believe me cause your mind is filled up with the shit that the media tells you about israel.. but israel is a lot more similar to the USA then it is similar to Egypt/Lebanon/Syria or any arab country..
many of the complaints are not about the simpsons making fun of religions -who cares, religions , and especially religion fanatics, are the worst thing ever that happened-.
the most of the complaints are about how horrible, EpicMovie-like, the jokes on the episode were. it could easily be any other episode if it had that amount of lame jokes in it.
really not the kind of quality humor that the simpsons have us get used to
Quite and naive stupid thing to say, there is many things that viewers who are religious and telling them that "religion isn't everything" is idiotic, I my self am not religious but close family members are would find it difficult to not be offended by some of the portrayals the Simpson have to offer, this also moves onto national insensitivity, such as suggesting the Irish area all drunks, the British all have bad teeth and the French surrender to everything - (none of which are even remotely true and probably point towards the nationality of the shows origins more than the countries its self)
As you said people have died for there religion, people are fighting and dieing now, 6 million of one of these religions were killed not 100 years ago for there religion, so some sensitivity and some sense should be in order before telling people that they have just just got to let it go, easy for some, like me and presumably you but not for many others, and everyones views should be respected.
I personally like some parts of the episode, the tour guide's voice did make me want to punch him, but the stereo-types of these religious groups are reasonably funny, especially since homers ignorance seems to perpetuate the naive, lazy, interfering and dare i say stupid stereo-type that the world sees Americans as, unfair? possibly but every country has there stereotypes, yes! even middle America!
Overall i'd give it 5/10! Ooooh... a little to generous perhaps. Hmmm...
20 % of all people who've commented just couldn't hold it in any more, they had to show the world just what ignorance means. If this episode of The Simpsons is offensive it sure as h*ll wouldn't be the first time it's managed to upset people. So far I've barely heard any comments of Homers way in treating Apu, nor of any of the many countries that have been made fun of throughout the years. If this episodes offense it's viewers - too bad. The Simpsons isn't about little bunnies hopping around speaking a language no one's ever heard of. It's a rude yet humorous show. You just have to accept it. If you haven't by now, then stop watching.

I am in no way religous, and I do not dislike this episode for that reason. I think it was just terrible in general. Boring, unfunny, just plain bad.
@MitchK
I completly agree.
@COFFIE
I'm going to assume your a 6 year old... only a child would say that.
